Hello, I Love You

      I apologize for being such a bad blogger this past week. I transfered to a new store and have worked nearly 40 hours this week. Working full time hours along with trying to stay on top of my school work has left me wanting to do nothing but catch up on sleep when I find myself with free time. I wore this outfit to work a couple days ago. I have an ever growing collection of slips in my closet and they have quickly become my favorite layering pieces. I find myself layering them under longer tunics (like the one pictured above) and shorter dresses to make them appropriate to wear out of the house. It has been cold in the mornings and getting some-what warmer later in the days. So, my favorite thing to add to my outfits is this giant knit scarf. In the mornings I can unravel it and wear it like a blanket over my shoulders (I'm sure I look semi-crazy but I don't care) and once it warms up I just wrap it back up around my neck.

      I had to share what I did with my hair the other day with you guys. I frequently have to be at work by 6am which entails waking up at 4:45am to get ready. I found this tutorial on Pinterest on how to do this braided hair-do. It was super simple, I just did my hair in two braids and then twisted the braids up around the back of my head and pinned away. I did it the night before I had a 6am work day and was able to sleep in an extra 10 minutes since I no longer had to worry about doing my hair.



      P.S. Can you guys spy my dog in the background of some of my pictures? She wouldn't stop following me around, trying to get me to play ball with her, as I was attempting to take outfit pictures.

Get Off My Cloud

I wore this outfit yesterday to go out to brunch with some friends then from brunch I had to go to straight to work. I wanted to wear something that I would be comfortable in all day and what's more comfortable than a maxi skirt and a slouchy tee?

Sidenote: I went hiking the other day in Runyon Canyon and wanted to share the amazing views of Los Angeles that Runyon has to offer with you guys.

I had planned on taking actual pictures of my outfit today. However, I ended up having a lot busier day than I expected to. So these quick iPhone shots I took on my way out of work will have to suffice for today. I promise to shoot better pictures for my next outfit post. Various forms of this kind of outfit have quickly become my "go-to" outfit. When I oversleep and don't have time to do my hair nor think about what to wear I know I can pull on my floppy hat, black skinnies, and my suede booties and look decent for the day. 

Re-Introduction

         A couple years ago I started to blog however, I let it fall to the wayside. I am back to try blogging again and determined to not let my blog suffer from anymore neglect. Since I haven't been on here in a while I thought I would "re-introduce" myself. My name is Ashleigh and I'm 22 years old. I live in Los Angeles where I was born and raised. Straight out of high school I went to pursue a degree in Visual Communications. After getting my AA in Visual Communications I decided I should get a BA. So, I am currently working towards my BA in English Literature. I have a passion for both fashion and literature. Therefore my blog name reflects that. H.P. Lovecraft is one of my favorite sci-fi/horror authors and lace is one of my favorite things to wear. I have a closet filled with various creme and black lace pieces. When I'm not at work I spend my free time hiking, reading, writing, listening to music, going to concerts, and hanging out with my friends. I suppose I am your typical 22 year old girl.
